Parents often sing to their little ones long before they can speak, usually choosing soothing nursery rhymes or playful tunes. Singing not only calms and entertains but also strengthens the bond between parent and child.

However, one dad decided to mix things up by singing an unexpected song to his infant: the United States’ National Anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner.” While one might assume a baby would prefer a more cheerful melody, this little one proves that theory wrong!

In the video, Dad begins serenading his son with the anthem in a rich baritone. The baby, perched in his high chair, shows immediate interest, rhythmically tapping his arms on the tray. The real heart-melting moment comes as Dad belts out the anthem’s powerful lines, “And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air…” The baby, fully immersed, raises his head, throws his arms up, and closes his eyes with dramatic flair, enhancing the performance with his own adorable enthusiasm.

As the song continues, the baby starts clapping along, clearly enjoying and perhaps even familiar with the anthem. His joy and love for music shine through, showing that you don’t need to be old to appreciate and engage with the spirit of your country.
