The moment the envelope opened, a small photograph slipped onto the floor. The owner’s hands froze. The picture showed the same ginger cat sitting beside an elderly woman who had lived in the house decades earlier. According to the family, the woman had passed away long before the cat ever appeared.

The cat stepped closer and gently touched the photograph with its paw. Then it looked toward the dark hallway again.

Inside the letter was a handwritten message. Most of the ink had faded, but one sentence remained perfectly readable:

“If he ever guards this letter, you’ll know it’s time.”

The owner felt a chill. Nobody in the family remembered the letter. Nobody could explain the photograph. Yet the cat seemed to know exactly what it was protecting.

As the owner continued reading, another folded page slipped out. On it was a rough sketch of a small wooden box hidden somewhere inside the house.

The cat suddenly ran toward the hallway and stopped beside a wall that had never seemed unusual before. It looked back one final time, waiting.

Then a faint sound came from behind the wall.

And when the owner noticed the name written beneath the sketch, everything changed…
