The cabinet door opened only a few inches before stopping. The child looked down at the cat, expecting him to run away, but instead he sat perfectly still, staring at the darkness inside.

With trembling hands, the child pulled the door wider.

There was no treasure. No money. No secret compartment.

Only a small photo album covered in dust.

The first pages contained family pictures from years ago. Then something strange appeared. In photo after photo, the same orange cat was visible in the background. Sleeping near a crib. Sitting beside a birthday cake. Watching from a window.

The problem was impossible to ignore.

The photos were taken more than twenty years before the cat had ever been adopted.

As the child turned another page, a folded letter slipped out. Written on the front were only three words:

“For whoever finds this.”

Before the child could unfold it, the cat suddenly jumped onto the album and placed one paw directly on a specific photograph.
